I don't really have a problem with advertising personal forums or what not if your a regular member here. It's different if it's a new member but yea. But I don't think it belongs in the help section.

Although ace you dont have a problem it still is against the rules.
You shouldnt make topics about advertisement, rather just put it in your signature.

Well if dpm has a problem with it, he can change it/delete all the posts. I'd rather the member make one topic about it then leave some ad in there signature that is seen on every thread they reply to, so really if they have it in there sig there advertising it on like every thread. I just want people to either make one thread about it or leave a link to it in there sig. You don't need both. But like I said, if dpm has any objections he can do whatever he wants to do.

This qualifies as advertising which is against forum rules. I don't care if it's a new member or regularly active member, they will all get equal treatment. Once you allow one person to advertise their site because they are "a regular member" it gives other members the thought that it is ok to advertise their stuff which is quite contrary. Think of it this way, what do spam bots usually advertise? Websites and promotional offers...so if we allow it, then we'd have to allow spam bots as well. I hope you understand, but if you still have any questions feel free to pm me or one of the admins.

I'm going to lock this for now until darkpacman looks into this matter.

I'll allow it. There seems to be no harm here. I agree with the aforementioned statement that ace made about "being a regular member". Advertising is ok on a member-to-member basis, and only the staff can really make the judgment on it. This all seems fine to me.
