Hi there, Am relatively new to all this and have just about managed to get a TA-082 2.71 downgraded to 1.50 and then upgraded to 3.03 OE-B, (after a few days reading and downloading from various sources!!)
I have 2 problems/questions that maybe someone can point me in the right direction on:
I cannot play ISOs as I get the error 'the game could not be loaded' I tried the UMD thing (disabling no UMD and trying with a UMD in the drive) but this did not work for me. Some of the posts suggest using newer firmwares so if this is a possible solution I would try that but.....
My other question/problem is can I go from my current firmware 3.03 OE-B to 3.71 or do I have to go through a few different ones before getting to 3.71 ?? Or is there one that might solve my problem that people who know might recommend?
Thanks in advance
(forgot to say please point me to a Simple solution as I struggled to get this far!!)

What error code do you get when the ISOs don't play?
And I HIGHLY suggest you to upgrade, you can hardly play any sort of new PSP games, some games require higher firmware, and you'll need to upgrade in order to play them. The higher custom firmwares get rid of different problems and run much smoother.
I suggest you upgrade from 3.03 to 3.40 OE and then possibly to 3.52 M33 (which has 3 updates to it, up to 3.52 M33-4). Once you are at 3.52 M33-3/4 you can upgrade to 3.71 M33.

If you need any help with that tutorial just let me know, i've done it a few times. Are you planning it upgrade past 3.40 OE after you get there, or are you gonna stay there? Its quite simple to move on to 3.52 M33-4 afterwards.

If i get it to 3.40 and get the games working I might quit at that!
but if it is easy I will probably go on further.

It just takes a couple of minutes to get it set up and thats it, you just gotta put a folder with the updater on your memory stick and then run that and you're set.

first hitch!! I don't have a GAME150 Folder on my PSP !!
Should I create this first or should it be there already? If I should create it should it be in the GAME folder or on the root?

The GAME150 folder should be in the PSP folder along with the GAME folder.

I think I am going around in circles at this stage. I tried to update to 3.03 OE-C but after I copied the files and then tried to run the OEUPDMAKER I get an error - THE GAME COULD NOT BE STARTED 8002014C
but I will try again (tomorrow night) as I need a break at this stage!!
Thanks again for the help

You need to put it in the GAME150 folder. OR the GAME folder with the game folder set at 1.50 kernel.

Your one stop source for everything

Anyways, it didnt create all folders for you when you formatted cause your on 3.03 oe-b...that feature was implemented in 3.03 oe-c. (just to give you some insite) As mentioned already you'll have to create the folders manually...i have pictures in the guide that i linked you to above in case your unsure of the directories they go in.
If the game your trying to play is a newer game (within the past several months) then yes you will require a newer firmware.
You can update straight to 3.52 m33 by referring to the guide above. (no need for 3.40 oe) From there you can update to 3.71 m33 if you like or just stay at 3.52 m33.
