3.40 OE-A Need help with XMB icons and custom themes

I have had some trouble installing any custom xmb icons on my psp and was wondering if anyone could help me out, like I said I have a fat with 3.40 OE-A FW, also..... I have installed some custom themes, but didnt know if the theme had to be an " easyshare.bmp" file or can it be something else also such as a "easyshare.jpg" file. I was wondering this because all the cool themes i find are the easyshare.jpg file type and I dont want to try them yet untill I know for sure. THANKS IN ADVANCE for any help or info!!!!!1

I was on 3.40oe-a mi self the xmb things were givin me a headache so I just upgraded 2 3.71m33. Now I just dl the .ptf themes and put them in the themes folder, as simple as that. But sum pipo say that 3.71 m33 aint gd but I havent had eni problems. Just install the 1.5 addon on to the 3.71 m33 and ur fine.

What about the Custom XMB icons, any idea on how to get those to work on 3.40 OE-A?

I'm using the same firmware. When I messed with my xmb, I did it all by hand by using flash0 usb mode. I searched around for a premade set of 3.40 icons, then took the topmenu_plugin.rco file and flashed it to the psp by myself.
