I have firware version 3.51, I'm just wondering the easiest steps to take to playing homebrews? which firmware to get? how to get it? and what to do after? any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried the search function, but didn't find any help.

The only way for you to play homebrew, is to use a pandora's battery to install custom firmware on your psp. You mind as well install 4.01M33-2 since I believe it is the latest. Check out tutorials section, there are many great tutorials on this stuff. Don't look past the stickies though, there good too. Just sift through the tutorials section for a while then ask your questions.

Just make a Pandora's Battery and Magic Memory Stick. Once you stick those in your psp you can downgrade or auto-update to CFW.

Doesn't that link take care of both?

Yes. The Magic Memory Stick method for that is fairly old, so I think it only has the ability to downgrade to 1.50. So you will have to manually upgrade to whatever CFW.

Won't I need 4.01m33 CFW first? and 4.01 OFW to get that?

Also, will I need a second PSP with cfw to do this as per the links instructions?

No. You can't go from an official firmware to an M33 Firmware Without a pandora.

Yes, a PSP with a CFW would help. But if you don't have access to one then you must buy or make a pandora.
