Hi all,

I used to have 1.50 on my old phat psp about a year ago, but I lost it while flying for a major business trip. Although I then got a new phat psp at xmas from a friend, luckily I still have all my isos and save info backed up on my pc from my previous homebrew and what not. That being said, the whole downgrading thing seems to have become soooo much more complicated than when I last did it!! I am completely lost as to what to do now. Basically I have a TA-082 Phat PSP (it has numbers on the green thing under the disc tray) with 4.05 firmware. I also have both GTA stories umds, and if I recall there was a way to downgrade with GTA Lib City Stories or something like that. So I suppose my question is this...how can I downgrade this 4.05 TA-082 phat psp to 1.50 or something capable of emulating isos and homebrew? If it's not currently possible that's ok, I was just looking for any advice from an experienced modder or homebrewer. Thanks

You need access to a Pandora's battery. You need someone who has modded their system to make a pandoras battery and a magic memory stick.

You can also buy a Pandora's battery off the internet, and make a memory stick with all the necassary files.

hmmm

Ok I just purchased a pandora's battery off the net, said it was good for both phat/slim models, and it comes with a 2GB Pro Duo stick...I will let you know when it arrives :)

Cool.
Good to see someone who had homebrew way back then too.
Since then, we've stopped downgrading PSP's.
Now we just have our own Firmware called Custom Firmware.
With that we can do everything the official firmware can do and run homebrew.
The latest Custom Firmware is 5.00 M33-3.

LOL. Ya, I've been around since they day 1.5 was cracked. Basically custom firmware is the official firware with the capabilities of 1.5 :D.

Not so fast there, JustinWoodypond, there's still stuff on 1.5 you can't do on CFW.
QQManto... :(

Ok I got my pandora batt and mem stick in the mail...as far as I can tell, all I need to do is make a magic mem stick since the pandora batt is already set??

Hello again,

I am now running M33 5.00-3 on my PSP phat, after using a pandora battery to hack the firmware....several isos backed up from games I own, and I am also using snes and nes emulation without any problems so far. Thanks for all the advice, the pandora batt/magic mem stick was easy to figure out once I managed to wrap my head around all the new lingo and tutorials.

yah, CFW on the psp is so great, its really the only reason i have one. I still buy a few few UMD's but I almost never even use the UMD tray...

so true. Mine was updated about a year ago to 3.51 OFW from 1.50. It wrecked me.
Last month I ordered me a Pandora Battery, and made a Magic Memory Stick...i felt so...happy, when I was running CFW and playing old Rom games, homebrew, and the neat apps out there.
