Brewology

hello all
i am quite a noob currently (lol) and i was wondering if there was a hombrew app of some sort or some way that i could change the firmware of my psp (not the actuall firmware, just what it says under system settings)
I read about this a while back but i cannot seem to find anything

BTW: i am running 5.00 M33-6

I believe I remember a program having to do with this, but only for interactivity between the PSP and PS3.
