k i went out and bought a new psp it has 3.11 can i downgrade that

As of now there is no downgrader sorry.

Are you high? lol - no, there isn't one, but DON'T upgrade the firmware any further and just wait for a downgrader to come along.

Sorry, man.
There is no downgrader
out for 3.11.

There is only a downgrader
for firmwares 3.03 and below.

how about the 3.10 open edition? can people who have fw 3.10/3.3/3.4 upgrade to 3.10/.4/.3 - oe? or do you still need to go to 1.5 in order for you to upgrade to an open edition fw?
maybe you can also explain why it has to be at 1.5? :)

In order to upgrade to a custom firmware, you must have a psp that is capable of running unsigned homebrew (unsigned eboots). The versions that run unsigned eboots are 1.00 - 1.50 - all custom firmwares. That said, unless you have a 1.00 - 1.50 - or current custom firmware psp... installing a custom firmware is impossible.
