Hi there,

I have 2GB Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo , I bought it from Ebay and received it like 5 days ago. When I tried it the first time .. there was ~300 MB free space but after I formated it using the PSP , it became 1.89 GB.

After 2 days my friend told me to format it using the PC and change the file system to(FAT)cuz its faster (I used a memory adaptor this time), and when I tried it to insert it in the PSP ... The PSP didnt detect any memory stick ...
I tried formatting the memory again and again with changing the file system to (FAT32) but the problem appears like it has nothing to do with that...

The problem right now is... How to get the memory working on the PSP again?!

*PS : I got 1 GB mem and its working perfectly on the PSP... but this 2GB isn't ...
And the 2GB mem works on the PC using the memory adaptor....

I guess i found the cause of this problem , I was just searching right now and i found this :
http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/P ... recognized

err.. but the problem is how to fix it even after knowing the cause of the problem =/
since i cant format the memory using the PSP cause its not recognized...

Some help would be appreciated

Try it like this instead of FAT32... This will also help clear up the ghosting/stuttering problems with movies and make your mem stick run faster.

1. plug in and set psp to usb mode
2.using the command in the command prompt (ie start -> run 'cmd'):
format <drive letter of psp>: /fs:fat
my drive letter is e so it would be format e: /fs:fat (if you do a help command on format you'll see the options eg format /?

If you get confused or lost just let me know.

Thanks for replying..

I tried doing what u said but it didn't work.
When I insert the memory in the PSP , the PSP acts like if there wasn't any memory stick inserted...
but the weird thing about it is that when I insert the memory stick in the PSP , the PSP starts flashing like when u watch a movie
but the flashing doesn't stop here..

A warning on those mem stocks.. I've had mine for over a year and it's started to mess up on me :( Games are starting to freeze and whatnot :(
