how do u put the sony 3.30 fw on u r psp and update to it ? (its not for me its for a friend, he doesnt wanna downgrde and get custom fw and crap cuz he might brick it )
i got the eboot but had to name it EBOOT.PBP and it says 'corrupted data'
what do i do???

Just a little "FYI" type thing, but you have just as much of a chance bricking the psp while updating officially, as well as updating to custom firmware. I highly advise against updating to 3.30.

Anways, you download the EBOOT.PBP and create a new folder called "UPDATE" and put the update folder here:

x://PSP/GAME/UPDATE - then run the update from the main menu, and you can delete the update afterwards.

its 4 my friends psp. he doesnt wanna downgrade from 2.71 1.5
he wanna update but i dont want him to update to 3.40+ but thx dark pacman77

I'd only update as high as version 3.03 - at least that way, your friend would have the option of still being able to downgrade some day.

well then trade psps with him and say u upgraded it for him.. then you downgrade his and keep it...lol

Theres just as much chance of bricking your psp by upgrading as there is at downgrading. With all the easy installers for downgrading, it kind of takes the risk out of it.
