i have 3.03 OE-C. i downloaded many games (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Megaman X4 - X6... etc) these are the only ones i seem to have problems with. the game play is perfectly fine. except there is no music where there should be. the SFX work fine (ie. megaman shooting his megabuster) is there an option i didnt select or something? maybe my version isn't the right kind. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I really never had a problem with that, but I do know for a fact that 3.40OE-A has better psx emulation. That may solve your problem. Unless someone else here has played those games then I dunno know. Are you sure those two don't have the bgm extracted to save space? Try downloading it from somewhere else too.

alls i did was download the .rar file, and extract it to E:\PSP\GAME. there is no bgm file, not in \SAVEDATA, not anywhere. and all files are less than 30mb in total. im pretty sure thats why its not working. i am going to try to download the files from somewhere else and see if that will work.
anyways, does 3.40 work the same way as 3.03? could i just extract the .PBP files to \GAME? or is this more complicated then i expect. im sure this is a question for somewhere else, but i feel like asking it anyways since 3.40 has been said to be better.

Well im guessing that you are already using psx games that are already converted to .pbp. If not you should use popstation to convert the .iso to a pbp. But just try a different file. And yea they work the same, 3.03OE-C is pretty much identical to Sony's 3.03 cept OE has homebrew support and a recovery mode. Same goes for 3.40. You need to put the folder that the .pbp file is in, in the GAME folder for both of them. And 3.40OE-A is supposed to have better psx emulation.

yea, the problem was my fault from the beginning. i had all the files in the right place. i just downloaded the < 30mb ripped versions of all those games. i downloaded another Symphony of the Night that was about 400mb, and it has everything. voice overs, music, all of it. thanks for the help =)

Yep. Next time just tell us the file is 30mb and then right off the bat I could've told you it was a ripped version :p
