What firmware is your psp?

Don't forget to make a backup of everything in flash0 just in case you brick then you will be able to paste back your original files, and you won't look like such a noob.

Read the tutorial in my sig and you should understand. flash0 is the name of the flash memory that all the icons are stored on. And top_menu_plugin.rco is the little packet thing that all the icons are in that you see right there in the xmb. But you should still read the tut in my sig.

topmenu_plugin.rco is your icons. You'd need to use the "converter" that AKIRA posted in order to use the icons in that theme pack.

DPM sed i do need it... right? "you'd" means you would, right?

Here's the situation.

Up until firmware 3.10 we could use any ol' topmenu_plugin.rco file to edit our icons, but after the release of 3.10 we realized that our old icons were actually BRICKING our psps (never mine, of course ). Anywho, in order to use older topmenu_plugin.rco files, you must first use the converter to allow them to work on your 3.10 + psp. Word is you have a 3.40 - so here's what I'd do.

1. sign up with the site
2. download the file
3. convert your topmenu_plugin.rco file of your choosing
4. flash it to the psp and enjoy

It may end up that you never needed to use the converter, but it's always better to be safe than sorry.

alright that explains everything but is there anyway for me to get the converter without having to sign up for the site? I'm already signed up to tons of other ones, can someone put it on pspbrew for me or something?

And that whole IP address forwarding thing to the legal authorities is a joke right... *once again feels like a n00b*

Bah my bad >.< I thought he said you didn't need the converter. Just sign up. And all you have to do is use a proxy if you didn't want your IP address forwarded to the legal authorities. Why would they want to send you to the authorities? For posting there programs somewhere else or something?
