What firmware are you using? If your on Sony's official firmware this wont work.

at the opening of psp hacking 101, they clearly state what firmware version you need to have. So unless you by passed this, you should have the right firmware for the job

of course you have firmware...but what firmware do you have? go to settings > system settings > system information and tell us what number does it say for your system software.

You guys do realize he is trying to play a psx game and not a iso right? Just use the tutorial's here to convert the psx rom's to eboots. There's a couple in the tutorial section just take a min and look. And you have to be at 1.50 firmware or a custom firmware btw. Which you prolly are at since the "Custom UMD" crap thing poped up. And the custom firmware's have built-in psx emulation so im guessing your at firmware 1.50. Just upgrade to a custom firmware and use the tutorials here.
O and next time you might wanna ask questions regarding a website's tutorial on there website. But we can help though.

O. Well. Yea you need to upgrade to 3.50 then, buy Lumines and downgrade to 1.50 then upgrade to a custom firmware. Then you can play psx games that you convert.

The only psx you can play on original is the ones downloaded from the ps3.
