can i change the file type- will it work??

i have read the totorial about this topic and know what to do but i have one question that the fourm doesnt answer. i want to change my game boot but can i use a differnt type of file to the orignal game boot thats already in the recovery bt thing.?? for instwance i think the recovery game boot is pmf or somethig but say i want to have one i found on u- tube and it wasnt pmf or whatever then will it still work or do i need to find a pmf(or whatever it relly is)

cheers- im nearly getting this whole homebrew cool psp thing now juts a few more days and i think ill have it! :D

No, you have to use a program to convert it to .pmf
I'm sure someone can link you to a program that converts videos. But to answer your question, no, the psp uses .pmf extension for it's gameboots.

It also has to be under 2.5 mb for it to work, unless you use staxx's tutorial on how to do it without.
