Hello all, I wanted to thank you for your help with a previous question, was very helpful!
I'm just curious now as to why my 1.5 Version of my PSP won't play videos. I have done everything and read up extensively on it.
after looking around I suppose Im forced to ask the best ;)
I firstly: Have everything in MPEG4 / or AVC Format, (some of these movies played on my 3.4 version of my Firmware.
moving on, I formatted the mem card, multiple times... I tried to Create the "MP_ROOT" folder and then add 100MV....folder title and that failed to work.
My PSP seems to work fine, It just will not recognize video no matter what I seem to do!!
Any help would be extremely appreciated! Thanks in advance all'

just upgrade to a custom firmware like 3.40OE-a or the others. those will play mp-4 videos. 1.50 cant play those video at that low firmware.

yea. Upgrade to a CFW. 3.40oe is an AWESOME firmware. I personally like the 3.52 M33-4 the best though. A lot of new features packed on with the 3.40OE features beat all.

After you upgrade format one last time using the psp format. This will give you all the right files you'll need. put your videos in the video file. If they till dont work. Try converting them. A good converter is this ipod converter. (change the ipod to psp format inside the application)

MAQxxxxxx which are (mp4 files that are AVC encoded) files should always go into the 101ANV01 folder and M4Vxxxxxx files
which are regular mp4 files go into the 100MNV01 folder.

Remember to rename them to something with numbers, except instead of X's. example: M4V55565.MP4. Usually when
you have a folder named "VIDEO", the mp4 videos works very well throughout that part.
