Does it do that during multiplayer?
That's weird, I have had it do that on single player on SF, but not on regular bf2. I never really tried to fix it though. Also, do you have the most current 1.41 patch?
And how is your network set up? Like do you have a router or what-not? I don't think it would make much of a difference but you could forward the port ors something idk!
Also try ending background programs to conserve RAM and such. Heck, I dunno know how but I know it uses the processor to calculate things such as moving, so possibly you need a better processor? What's your specs?
I would just suggest to first set all the graphics to really low and see what it does then.

Yes, we really do need to know the specs of your computer. You should really goto www.canirunit.com and find "Battlefield 2" in the programs list. Using that website, you can figure out if your computer is good enough to play any game, or if not, where you need to upgrade... or possibly even just buy a new computer ;) lol

My guess is that your graphics are not up to date. I'm guessing that you have an integrated nvidia geforce 6100 or 6150 chipset on your motherboard. Those chipsets will RUN most games, just not well. If you have a pci-e x16 slot on your motherboard, upgrading your graphics card would be a great option (if you have a powerful enough power supply to run it).

Then it's a definite RAM issue. Your graphics card and processor should be good enough. Pentium 4 is getting a little dated, but it's still good enough to run Battlefield 2. But honestly, if you're playing Battlefield 2, you should upgrade to 1gb of ram. Some of the diehard fans of the game actually recommend 2gb. The good news, is that ram is at an all-time low on the market nowadays.
