A DS emu is in progress and can boot some games but it isn't playable yet .
Hopefully a flash player update will be in order in future updates.
You can use Skype on the slim to call people.
There is a mini thumbpad for either the psp or the ps3 controller, I'm guessing they work for either but I am sure there is a mini keypad for the psp.
What Emus do you have in mind?
Texting would be the best thing to happen to the psp for a lot of people.

I'll agree with you on some of those things. It does seem that lately the Mainstream of Emu's has fizzled down quite a bit. I really Like GPsp, except that the menu is aweful. Daedalus has really slowed down, and the Snes emu isnt really perfect but being that i dont make any of them i wont complain. Also what i realllllly would like to see is External Dualshock 2/3 Support for psp!!!!

Well i guess you pretty much answered the Question... And as for the DS, i dont really see the purpose other than novelty of having a Touch screen/Dual Screen system on a Single non-touch screen device. DS's arent even expensive...

I think that the Potential in Emu's is one of the Coolest parts of Owning a PSP, and while i understand that people have lives and that they are difficult to make, it does seem as if their production has slowed recently.

Something that i'm interested in seeing as well is a Successful and somewhat clean Hard Drive mod for the PSP, i know there was one a while back but it had to be used through USB host.

And No, you would need to have the controller, as the PSP doesn't have one.
