Yes, that is right! Another downgrader is in progress as we speak. Yoshihiro, Mathieulh, and Dark_Alex are currently working on a downgrader that will allow you to downgrade your 1.50 to a 1.0 PSP! This was the first firmware that made it onto the PSP, and was only available on Japanese PSP's at launch. This first firmware was, and still is the only firmware that will allow us to run unsigned eboot files without any exploits. Nem was the first to release a homebrew application in the classic form of a "Hello World" application. The one benefit for this downgrade is the ability to run unsigned eboots, and ultimately hacked firmware. This means that, like the Undiluted Platinum modchip, we will be able to use custom firmware as our firmware. This downgrader has been tested by FreePlay and Dark_Alex to work, so all looks promising!

Mathieulh, Yoshihiro, and Dark_Alex will be releasing this downgrader tomorrow if everything goes to plan. We will inform you all when the downgrader comes out as fast as humanly possible. Update #1: Dark_AleX, Yoshihiro and Mathieulh have now released the 1.50 to 1.00 downdater. Remember that to install this program, you will need the help of someone with a 1.00 PSP, and as always there is a risk to brick your PSP whenever you write to the flash memory. Be sure to have your battery charged and your PSP plugged into the power source to make sure you do not lose power while doing this. The steps are as follows, for the person with a 1.00 PSP, and the 1.50 PSP:

Instructions for the 1.00 user:

- Copy the downhelper100 folder to /PSP/GAME/ and start the program.
- It will dump your flash and your ipl to the memory stick. After finished, the program will exit.
Send the folder created at the root of your memory stick called "DOWNDATER" to someone with 1.50 to allow him to downgrade.

Instructions for the 1.50 user:

- Copy __SCE__downdater100 and %__SCE__downdater100 to /PSP/GAME/
- Get the DOWNDATER folder from your friend with a 1.00 version PSP and put it on the memory stick.
- Get the official Sony 1.50 update and put it under /PSP/GAME/UPDATE
- Start the program.
Note: You need to set the language of your psp to either english or japanese before starting (anyways, it will advise you if you don't have that requirement and it will exit safely). Also, connect the PSP to the AC adaptor.
- After a confirmation with the X button, you PSP will start to flas to 1.00.

DO NOT REMOVE the memory stick and DO NOT shut down the PSP.

After it is finished, the program will tell you to restart the PSP manually, and you will have a 1.00 PSP. Remember, this will flash your PSP's flash memory and you could potentially brick (break) your PSP.

Before downgrading, make sure you meet the following requirements -
Your PSP is not a TA-082. This downgrader has you to be tested on a PSP with this type of motherboard. (If you do have this PSP version, it may result in a brick). [Find out if you have one!]

If you are willing to try this and know the possible consequences, you must enter a password for the file.

Yea but whats the use. I mean theirs mroe stuff for 1.50 out right now than 1.0,
ofcourse those old Juice emulators were pretty cool.

well see with 1.0 you can launch your own unsigned eboots, meaning you can make your own firmwares, and launch them without the modchip! so you can go from 1.5-1.0- custom1.5... awesome!

yea im waitng a little bit before i downgrade once new and kool stuff comes out than ill downgrade. hopefully the release a custon fw that is 2.7x and can have all the functions of the regular and more.

Yes but the firmwares will only be emulated, and yes thats pretty sweet, I was able to play that when I first got my 1.00 psp. But Id rather have more homebrew than jhust up to 10 or 20 for 1.00 (im sure theres more than that but theres more homebrew for 1.5 then 1.0 for sure)

yes and that is the whole point of this. to use firmwares by 'emulating' them on a lower psp so that you can also run homebrew on the psp.

No point in getting 1.0 yet, just wait to see if Epsilon Bios comes out, that should work. But yeah the only point of having 1.0 is to have more development opportunities.

the only way i'm downgrading is when they come out with cool custom firmwares...

when is a custom fw suposed to come out?

The Epsilon BIOS custom firmware is supposed to come out soon, within the next couple of months I think (please correct me if it's already out!). It was originally meant for the modchip, but now that 1.0 is now a possibility for us lucky 1.5 users, we get to have a piece of the cake too. Although some say it is a fake among other things, it would still be nice to have a 2.71 PSP with ISO and homebrew capabilities of a 1.5.

In other news I do believe that Dark_Alex has released a PRX decrypter cabable of extracting the PSP's firmware 2.71, which means that if the developers keep cranking out homebrew at this rate, we can expect Devhook to emulate 2.6/7 within the next few months. So fear not loyal 1.5 users, there will still be a possibility of 2.7 without changing to a custom firmware!

sweet. i didnt know that epsilon bios is gonna work on 1.0

It might (I think it's just a custom firmware), or if they make an application for flashing the Undiluted Platinum, they will probably make an "update" for all of the 1.0/ future 1.0 users.

thats cool but say people relase multiply fw's will you be able to try each one and overwrite the previous one?
