Wii Backup Loader Help

I downloaded The wii backup loader with the custom firmware with sonic on it...
My "friend" backed up a game on a disk for me...
I worked just fine on his wii, but it just wont work for me.
when I launch the Backup loader it trys to read it but it says DVD READ ERROR
I keep trying to download the firmware and all 15 parts of it say OK!
but in the end it just says (installation returned)

are you using Gamma? if so use Waninkoko's cIOS and install it thru wifi and that should fix your problem

yes I am using gamma, and I installed it thru wifi but it still wont allow me to play the backup.
During the Downloading of the 15 parts of the cIOS It is fine,
But a short while after It says installation returned.

do I need to uninstall my current cIOS?

yeah then i don't know ur prob then..... i didn't uninstall mt prevoius cIOS i jut over wrote it
