noob help plz

hi so im brand new with wii homebrew, im very much used to psp homebrew and hacking and i just got the wii for xmas and its updated to version 4.2, i already did bannerbomb on it and have homebrew channel and i have just downloaded world of goo, its a wad file....what do i do with it? where on the sd card do i put it and how do i install it?

a wad file you need to install, for that you need a wad manager. and most likely Cios 38 rev 16.

someone please help D:

so i did some looking around and found a guide for how to install a cios, however i was hoping id see alot more "enabled", mostly because as recommended you said cios 38, and everything is disabled for that one for me, um....if someone can help me enable it, thatd be great, again im on menu v4.2U

i dont understand most of this yet, maybe if theres a guide to what this stuff means you could point me to it or something or if you have some time, explain it to me and let me know what i can do


and if it helps at all when im in hbc and hit home, the top right corner shows 1.0.6 IOS61 v21.29

will Dop-IOS v8 work on my Wii? and if so what should i downgrade to? i just want to be able to plug in an external hd or usb and run backups or whatever.[/u]

This guide has instructions for restoring the Trucha bug on system menu 4.2:

If you want to run backups off an external hdd, I'd recommend following the steps to restore the trucha bug and installing the Hermes cIOS. Then use one of the many fine USB loading programs.
