yea unless you have the particular broadcom card i do. then you have to find the windows driver for it and bootleg it in using terminal. PAIN IN THE A$$. Thats just one bad experience I have personally had with Linux. Its all too.... whats the word...
OH clusterfu!#ed. Sure linux can do alot windows can on lighter systems, but it takes double the time to figure it out. what is the point of having a faster system if I absolutely have to dig through forums every step of the way? This is coming from someone who actually enjoys figuring stuff out.

Every rig is different, every linux build is different, so no one tutorial works for everyone so you have to limp through it all. This is a waste of my time. Linux is a great idea. You can't call it a better OS though. Linux is only good for SINGULAR purpose computing. Best applied to certain areas like security, office work, and the like. It is not designed to work for everyone on the first or even the second try.

OSX = for people who know nothing about computers and just want it to work.

Windows = for people who enjoy doing SOME things out of the box but still need general purpose things to work.

Linux = for people who cant get off unless the work from the ground up or have a very cheap rig.

Now whos fault is it that you don;t know how to use it? if u had been using linux from back in 96, then using linux would've been a piece 'o' cake... Linux is harder to use if you've been using windows your whole life... (in some cases).. but i had never put a hand and on a linux disk, till 2009, in which i was sick of windows, so i downloaded Super Ubuntu 9.04 ... and to tell you it was one of the best OS's i had laid my eyes on.. sadly my mom needed a couple of programs that could only work on windows so i had to move back.. :(

Moving from Windows to Linux is like you play baseball your whole life and then move to cricket(sport).. .

if you (not directing this at you or being a dick) take the time to learn a little bit, then linux is easily your best friend

but thats just it. I have no personal reason to go to linux. as windows does it all anyway. what i MIGHT lose in processing time i gain from not having to look through hordes of badly written or very specific tuts.

Not that I cant figure it out. Its just why bother?

Yeah. I know the feeling. You summed up my personal Linux experience without cursing as much as I did. Kudos.
