Wii vs Elite

So I am thinking about doing a trade for a brand new Wii with Wii sports for a barely used 360 Elite. I want to make the trade because I already have an older 360 but it is about to wear out.

Is this a good offer or would I be insulting someone?

The elite costs $399, the wii costs $269 (comes with wii sports)....if you feel like losing out on $130 then go for it.

If you have an older 360 that means you probably have a drive that is easily hackable. Screw the Wii, hack your xbox, and start burning games.

No no no, I am considering giving up the brand new Wii for a used Elite. Don't ask how I got it just know that it was legit.

The older 360 that I have is showing signs of extreme wear and I am considering a replacement. I doubt it would serve well for hacking into anyways.

Showing signs of wear as in? The only 'hacking' you can do on the xbox is just playing backups really. If your xbox is out of warranty then I would suggest copying your dvd drives firmware so that you could easily replace it yourself if it did crap out on you. Save you money and time.

Don't see the point in having 2 of the same console when both are functional.

No!
Don't!
Wii gets boring really, really fast.
There's almost no good/addicting games for it.

I had the system turned in once for the drive scratching up my disks and I don't think Micro$oft did anything but make an adjustment. Now when it runs the console freezes randomly and the drive makes a really loud buzzing sound like perhaps it is out of balance or the motor within is on it's last leg. I could wait till it dies completely or I could just replace it and use it once in a great while to give it a break so to speak.

As for the hacking I really wish I could get the old dash back the new "Xbox Experience" is the gayest thing I have seen next to the Wii interface.

the wii has potential i think. a developer other than nintendo needs to take more time on the games they make for it.

I heard they are working on something as well, I'm excited to see what it would be. The Wii has great potential, but I like playing games the old fashioned way :).

Well hopefully this doesn't turn into another console war thread, but I would do it. Even if I liked the Wii more, you are still making money. If anything you could get the elite, sell it, and then buy a Wii and have more money than you started out with.

Imo, there both pretty fun. I play my 360 a lot more than the Wii, but the Wii is pretty dern fun when we got a few people over. Pretty much like I said before plenty of times, the 360 is for online play with all my friends, and Wii is for parties :p
