what do you think about god and religion?

DPM was just reminding us because this is a touchy subject
religion is something people easily get offended about even if they don't know why

God is an easy way of putting blame on something
9/11 why did God let this happen
Why did God let my husband cheat on me
stuff like that
why should we take responsibilty for our actions when we can just blame God
such an easy way out right? of course it is
i'm pretty sure we've all done it

i enjoy seeing all the "evidence" of proving God doesn't exist
it makes me laugh, simply put
we continue to prove ourselves wrong everyday
the earth is the center of the solar system or the earth is flat
people haved lived thinking that was truth because of "evidence" proving this to be so

jesus wrote the original bible lmao
also i enjoyed the whole the book of revalation being a greek translation too bad greeks were polytheistic you'll get them next time tiger
why john was chosen to write revalations its because he started the lil thing called the church him and paul were prolly the two most important diciples out of all of them

people see the bad better than they can see the good
for every one bad church they overlook 10 good chruches

the bible is the sort of how to guide for life
and yes the whole plural posessive pronouns in genesis i know its not the holy trinity its more than likely the angels

life is sort of like a test really
God just doesn't exist there's also the antithesis to him/her/it

i think a huge misconception about God is praying
when we pray to God and we ask for something you just expect him to give it to you
of course not God isn't just going to give you a better house instead God will give you the "oppurtunity" to go out and get a better house wether it be in the form of taking out a second mortage or whatever catch my drift? (morgan freeman put that in perspective for me)

by no means am i a good christian hell i don't even like going to chruch
but i thought i'd pass on a few of my thoughts and what kind of discoveries i've made through out my life

See i have no problem with people who believe in a higher power or something you would call "god"
my problems are with organized religion.
How they all thing their words are the words of god, and they think the other religions are fake.
Even in christainity churches dont believe in the same things. You got baptists, catholics, mormons ect

This makes no sense, how can god have 2413243 different books and they all think they have the right one.

And another problem is that the bible is 200 years old, it had been changed more then anyone can think of.
Thats why i hate religion.

It causes many conflicts because people are ignorant.
Why cant people see that god loves them all, and he favors no one religion over the other.

it doesnt punish us, it doesnt tell us how to live, it doesnt even do anything.

Why do people listen to these 200 year old books, i mean they have changed so much, you never know what they could have added or taken away.

You mean about 2000* year old book? . Well I don't go to church and some of the most hypocritical people are church goers. I understand where you are coming from. I'm not much for organized religion as well.

yah i mean the other problem is that its asking you to pray, and i never understand that.
why would god want you to pray for him? thats like a dictator.

and another is people putting faith in god instead of themselves.

most people fail to understand that its them doing everything and its them that can change things, not god. People should stop putting faith in god and take actions themselves.

It is too difficult to take care of ones self. That is why I believe that a lot of people turn to the government for assistance. Now not everyone is like that, I mean there are some people in genuine need of assistance but the truth is that a lot of tax money goes into supporting programs that everyone pays for but only a small portion of people qualify for and truly deserve. Sometimes it seems as if some people feel that the government owes them something for being born citizens. Others seem to think that the government is another set of parents. I guess Uncle Sam delivers faster than prayer.

I want the government to take care of all matters that concern the United States but it should stay out of matters that concern individual states or even individual citizens. Everyone should take care of their own affairs and not rely on the government or god to resolve them.

I believe that prayer is moot because if god truly is supreme he should know our needs and handle them without being asked for 1 and 2 why would he allow mere mortals to make demands of him even if they begged?

Well I think God does know what you actually need, but it's up to you to ask. Just to prove to you your willing to be humble enough to ask him to help you. And I don't demand nothing of God, I just ask him for things I actually need. A lot of people think praying is to ask God for things you want, like the next coolest video game coming out, which is just selfish if you ask me. I think yea you should get your own wants, but if you really NEED something like food or shelter then you can pray to God about it and he will take care of it when he wants to. A lot of people are like that though, that they think just because they were born into the world that the world owes them everything. Now that I really do hate. But that's just what I think. O and the reason that he answers those prayers is because he loves you (in a caring way).

but u know i had a friend who prayed 2329 times to find his dad. This kid was very poor and his mom could barely pay for him.
he was a unwanted pregnancy and the mom never found the dad.
then one day someone knocks on the door, and its his dad.

now his dad is very rich and thinks god brought him to this kid, WHILE IT WAS HIS FREAKIN MOM.
and it gets on my nerves, now he think god is doing everything to him, while its his parents buying him stuff.
its just stupid

God moves through people lol. Don't get all "wtf i hate that because god didn't bring him to the doorstep it was his FREAKIN MOM"
Since that is simply not true, God moves through people and allows things to happen.

I also dis like the people that want the government to do everything for them.

And yes, if you are humble enough to sincerely pray to God and ask for assistance, I don't see any problem in that. However un-godly people try to make it like "God's a dictator and why would he make people beg" and all that sh**
