Yea I was about to say que, I'm pretty sure cmd is blocked on their schools computers, as is ours. That's why I mentioned whois.ws instead of using ping. I will look into that program we have started using. But we also use ff portable, and sad part is we have to enter the schools proxy settings just to get it to work. But I mean our school is a Academy of technology, that was made in like 2004 so it's fairly well built ;) But most of the stuff I like to do, I just do at home. Since I'm usually busy actually doing work at school. But I will still look into that program.

Yea I have seen some instances where it is blocked but it is really just a matter of getting that IP address. Since that number really does not change you can get it off of any system where you do have open access and then try it on the "closed" system.

Why thank you guys for your kind heartedness, I do believe the name of the program is ultrasurf. Dunno know what it does, but that's what we started using.

i've been using Ultrasurf at school for a while now to go to youtube and whatnot. Our school uses the websence security too. In fact, some of my teachers have actually asked me to use it for some things lol.

My teachers would always ask me to bypass things on the internet when I was in high school. The school I went to used a crappy security interface... I can't believe others couldn't find a way through like I had. Installing secondary internet browsers to flash drives would always work, but at my school (like yours, I'm assuming), they would let you have access to the bios. You could just straight up throw a different operating system on a computer. You'd be taken off of the school's network, and miss out on programs, but if all you're doing is getting on the computer for information or something, why not?

I had an advanced entomology class in high school my senior year. I was the only person in the class and I only had 1 assignment all semester (to write a final paper). I was on the computer nearly every day, but I wasn't in need of anything the school was using, especially not the internet security  All I did was use a computer in a back office and I pretty much made that computer "mine".

Wow, you guys sound lucky. On all of our computers, we have no access (supposed to at least) to anything. They have a pass for CMOS, no cmd line, no left click on most things cept IE, using another browser off a flash drive doesn't do anything, we use websense which even blocks like education.com (it blocks EVERYTHING!!), I mean really were not supposed to be able to do anything except use IE, or some other educational programs like PLATO. But that ultrasurf thing is awesome. We have picked up some useful things since last year when I started going there. Like the local admin account pass & username, ultrasurf, and just ways to access like control panel on our actual accounts, and other things. It's really a pain in the arse to always have to figure out how to bypass the network engineer's attempts and suffocating our hopes and dreams of visiting pspbrew at school :p Like someone mentioned somewhere, our school blocks pspbrew but doesn't block xboxbrew XD

Speaking of blocked privelages, If you all have ever heard of Novell Client that blocks admin stuff on a computor/laptop, i can get it off for u so u can do anything to it.

BTW for the wireless networking and stuff, the CMD is the best way.

What do you mean it doesn't work? Like, what exactly are you doing?
