That's not a fair question.
Why don't we delete threads instead of just moving them? Give 10 legitimate reasons.

1. If the person contributed a ton to the site, and has been their for a long time,
I don't think they'd be too happy about all their posts being wiped out, even though they were banned.- If they are banned they shouldnt be on the site anymore. How would they know? And we have to have a legitimate reason to ban an account. Say if they "hacked" into the brewology or spammed. Why should we care about them?
2. Depending on the case of why he/she was banned, Resurrection is common here at brew,
a lot of people would rather be unbanned from a previous account rather than have to make a new one -Its a rule not to make a new account. Once again, I go back to us having a legitimate reason to ban them. Resurrection is NOT common at the brew. Your the special case.
3. It comes off as extremely unprofessional, unless the account being deleted is years banned
or the account didn't contribute a good sum of posts / discussions -Yet again how do people know unless we publicaly announce it? A deleted account doesnt have a big red flag saying that this account has been deleted. Besides, other forums do it too.
4. It's possible something stupid like deleting an account by accident could happen >_> I won't comment on this because I helped in this mistake.
5. It's permanent. If the remover decides to change his/her mind, it can't be undone
(unless the remover had access to backup php files, which the remover most likely won't.....) -Why would the remover change his mind on unbanning and bring back a spammer/a person who broke rules? We take banning and removal of accounts very seriously. We dont do it for little reasons. Look around, we have been pretty lenient with the rules with you all.
6. To keep a record for future reference - Please refer to number 7.
7. To keep track of our past. Without knowing the past, we could repeat the past in the future. Then would we be moving backwards or forward? In my thinking, backwards. -I like this quoteBut your wrong. By deleting said account we can still see the posts this user made. Move these comments to wherever they may need to go. So, no, we would still be moving forward..not backwards
