Yes, I was leaning towards the "karma system".

although this is highly unlikely, if transferred to a vbulletin you can implement an rpg system game and a bunch of other cool things, which may attract people. just throwing around ideas.

It's blocked for games by the surf control protection that whatever school chooses to use. We can't stop that, but there's more than plenty ways around that.

I know this will sound a bit elitist, but I think some kind of VIP system would be nice. You can create whatever conditions for the status, but I was thinking that older members can get in, as well as major contributors and people who donate to the site. This way we can have a locked VIP section where inside the rules can be a bit more laid back. I know some things get pushed into PMs because they shouldn't be seen by all, but still relevant to several people. This could be the place for it to be posted.

crait : i said search topic names, not search by topic names...

like this, the brew is and there are only 5 threads..

1.Banana
2.Strawberry
3.Orange
4.Watermelon
5.Apple
(forget the examples)

so when i search "Banana", the topic Banana comes up no matter what was posted in it..
what happens with what you said is, we can search "Banana" in posts and arrange it by topic..

I agree to this idea, and I would like to implement a sort of VIP section where certain conditions and rules can be overlooked or bypassed. The problem would be creating the requirements needed to be part of that section. It's easier to create certain "member classes" in phpbb3 so I'm sure this idea will come up again in the future, but won't be a direct goal from the get-go. How I'm thinking right now, unless you're personally invited to the section from an administrator, you wouldn't have access to it. That way, there would be no minimum criteria needed to meet in order to gain access other than being a positive contributor to the network.

Easier to control. Easier to kick people out or bring them in. It's a good idea as long as the staff can control the section in a way that is not harmful to any other section. Member jealousy will also come into play, something I try to avoid, but if done right, I think it would be beneficial overall. Any idea that lets me deny BKF access to a forum section is good by me ;)
