I'd like to take my bow some time but I'll definitely have a backup incase the arrow misses, or it does hit and the bear just gets ticked off that a arrow is poking it. As for the black powder, now that I don't understand.

Yea I think I'd rather be on the ground anyways, that way at least I can run a couple feet before it gets me instead of waiting for it to climb the tree
