Haha, unfortunately, you're wrong. Filler is what drug dealers slip into cocaine to make an extra 50 bucks.

Hero: has to be a total tard. IE eats too much, doesn't get school, usually a thug. (the most powerful)

ANTI-hero: Has to start out as a villain. usually equally as stupid. (doomed to be just the second most powerful)

Woman: This character isn't allowed to have any REAL involvement in the plot other than being a love interest for one of the other characters. IE chi-chi, bulma, sakura, hinata, orohime.

Villains: doesn't matter they will fall one by one. HOWEVER each will kill more than the last. Also each and every villain will start out beating the crap out of the other characters but predictably lose.

Generic anime mascot: This character is generally "cute" and serves as mainly plot device.

ok so now that we got the characters we need the plot.

Plot

A normal boy is thrust into abnormal circumstances. This is can be a variety of things. The boy discovers a lost power, is killed, is the last of his kind etc etc etc. These circumstances give him the power to FIGHT. (this is important to note cause most fighting anime DBZ, Bleach, Naruto. fall into this generic category.) He defeats one villain after another gathering friends along the way. The hero MAY die. He'll be back due to some sort of plot device. They will recycle this scenario OVER and OVER. The characters will get more and more powerful till its flat out ridiculous.

This sort of anime entertained me for AWHILE. till of course I realized I was being fed this stuff OVER and OVER. I watched all of DBZ, I watched 2 seasons of Bleach, and 142 (yes i noted the number) episodes of Naruto. So I'm a slow learner. I can see the attraction to this sort of anime. Please by all means watch it if it entertains you. Just realize that there are animes out there that are GOOD. Like FLCL for example that are less than 20 episodes. Give them a shot.

Here are some examples of non generic anime. Death Note, Gantz, FLCL, Welcome to the N.H.K., Ergo Proxy, Golden Boy.

Ive watched every Dragon ball, and GT is the worst, the original Dragon ball (i have read some of the manga too) is the best
GT becomes too too unbelievebly silly, the only cool things that come from it are:
the video games, super saiyan 4, Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta, Omega shenron, etr etr...
tbh after marjin boo saga GT was just pointless as marjin boo was ment to be the destrution of earth and since he got owned by a spiritbomb and funnly enough so did Omega shenron, which any native human can summon...
Point: GT is good but its not as good as the other seasons in my opinion if you got time to waste its worth watching if not i wouldnt watch it.

i don't know if you watched GT they didnt pay for the wishes,
on all DB's you had to give 7 dragon balls, the difference is the amount and what wishes you could ask, GT was ANYTHING
DB-Z was 3 and certain things wernt aloud,
DB 1, and it was hard
also in GT you had to scout the whole universe for them,
and the dragon's name is Shenron.
Also in GT the dragon balls cracked unleashing the bad versions of them i can go on...

Its anti-intellectual. I think thats what my social studies teacher called it. Especially here in america we worship the almighty doofus. Its not "cool" to be smart. It is however cool to be strong.

Which is why anime like Death Note is so refreshing. the main characters are genius. Its also why I like Batman more than Superman.
