Sound

Hey I am doing a project for IB (sorta like Integrated Science) and I have to build a house and make it green (like soler power etc) but also have a custom alarm system. I already have lights and bells that go off if you trip the lazers (which is also hocked up to a computer so when they alarm goes it takes a video. But I was wondering if it is possible to have a free software program that I can download that would make it so an alarm goes off if there is any type of sound in the room. I know there are sound alarms you can buy but I have to make it or use software with my computer and integrate it into the house myself any ideas is this type of software even around?

Thanks so much.

Wow, can they make that a project in school?
It seems really complicated.
Usually I would be able to help you out with something like this.
What you could do is download software that enables or disables USB powers for your USB ports, then get a USB code and intigrate it to suck power out of the USB cord then use the software to turn it off or on.

Kay just to make it a little more clearer. What it needs to do is if there is sound heard from my mic an alarm goes off. I know there are programs/scripts you can download from Adobe Flash were if a sound is heard it records a video/screen shot but never seen one for sound.

Its sorta like outside of school not really a school project but I can get one credit for it.

Not since I got my new computer I would download it right now but don't feel like it plus I suck at coding that stuff.

Kay pm sent and thanks. If you do have time to make up a script for me that would be amazing a little trade off for flash.
