Earth Hour

Well first off I was gone for a little bit sorry about that was in Toronto for a couple of days for work/play. Anyways just wondering is anybody going to turn off there lights? In Toronto were I currently am (Eaton Center, In the Hilton Hotel) they are not off yet but haven't look outside in the last half hour. Do you really think its going to help us?

no, its going to save some money for an hour, then people will turn their lights back on and forget about it all and continue living like we have been

its just an attempt to try and change things or become more aware which won't happen to be realistic

It costs more to turn on the light than it does to keep it running. Keeping that in mind, with millions of people most likely turning their lights on after the hour is up... how would it help? It wouldn't even help a global cause if we didn't use electricity for a whole 6 months, let alone one hour.

Having millions of people turn on their lights at once could be a bad thing because of the sudden load that would be put on the power grid. I would imagine there could be a lot of brownouts initially and that is bad for electronics. If it happens.

Heh I never even heard of this, I was like what is he talking about? (I just turned off my light).
I prefer my light off anyways, that is how I mostly have it. I am always turning off lights when I leave a room and when people always leave them on. But I doubt everyone will suddenly turn the light on RIGHT when the hour is up. What is the point of having them off for an hour then immediately turning it back on?

I see no harm at all in planting and using Marijuana to the fullest, though it does little for me except make me more lazy than I already am. I think it is safer than alcohol or any other controlled substance.

I have never known stoners to raid banks during or after their high, only refrigerators Oreos and Doritos.

I have met many violent drunks but have never seen anyone stoned hurt a fly, seriously.

Anyhow, with that said how else would Marijuana help the earth?
