Metallica Speech for school
Ok so at my school we have to do speeches every year so this year I did mine on Metallica and its due on tuesdayso if theres any mistakes ive made please correct me(I mean like puncuation and stuff)

Hello class,
Today I will be speaking to you about my faveorite metal band Metallica.
Now before you go saying "I know everything there is to know about Metallica", I garrentee you will learn something new about them.
So with that being said lets begin.
Metallica is a Metal band that was formed in LA California in 1981.
They were first brought together when drummer Lars Ulrich put an ad in the newspaper.
Weeks later guitarist James Hetfield and Hugh Tanner replied to the ad.
Although they were not yet a band Ulrich asked Metal Blade Records if he could record a song for the upcoming Metal Massacre.
Brian Sagel, founder of Metal Blade Records accepted.
Just before they started recording Ulrich recruited Hetfield to sing.
Ulrich talked to his friend, Ron Quintana who was thinking of names for fanzine.
Quintana came up with the names Metal Mania and Metallica.
After thinking for a long time Ulrich used Metallica.
Afterwards a second advertisement was put in the paper for a lead guitarist.
Dave Mustaine, Current guitarist for Megadeth awnsered.
After meeting with him Ulrich and Hetfield asked to see his equipment They recrutied him to lead guitar because of what it was worth.
In 1982 Metallica recorded Hit the lights for metal massacre.
Metallicas first demo was Power Metal.
A couple weeks later Hetfield and Ulrich went to a show at a night club and were blown away by the bassists use of the wah pedal.
The Bassist name was Cliff Burton and as soon as the show was over they asked Burton to join Metallica.
As soon as they got back they kicked out bassist Ron McGovney.
Metallica Kicked out lead guitarist Dave Mustaine because of his alcohol abuse, Drug abuse and violent behavior.
afterwards Exodus guitarist Kirk Hammet flew in to replace Mustaine the fallowing afternoon.
Mustaine went on to found Megadeth.
He has also expressed his hate for him in many ways like in interviews and onstage.
In 1983 Metallica traveled to New York to record their first album Kill em all.
The Album Peaked at number 120 on the billboard 200
Although Metallica didnt make alot of money it got them a growing fan base in the underground metal scene.
The band embarked on the Kill em' all for one tour with metal band Raven.
With huge success from that tour the band decided to record its second album "Ride the Lightning."
Released in August 1984 the album peaked 100 on the billboard 200
Some songs on the album were Creeping Death and From whom the bell tolls.
Also on the album was the call of ktulu.
Mustaine was givin credit for writing.
Metallica's third and my faveorite album was Master of Puppets.
It was recorded at Sweet Silence Studios.
It was relased on march 1986.
This album peaked number 30 on the billboard 200.
Which took 72 weeks on the chart.
The band was was givin their first gold album on November 4th 1986 and givin platenum six times in 2003.
Fallowing the album the band supported Ozzy Ozbourne on tour.
On this tour Hetfield broke his arm skateboarding.
On September 27 1986 The band drew cards to see who would get what bunk.
Burton won the draw and picked the one on the top.
Near Sweeden while sleeping the driver drove the bus into a ditch, Flipping multiple times.
Everyone in the band got out ok, Exept for Cliff Burton was killed.
He got thrown out of the bus and crushed him, killing him instantly.
The Driver of the bus left the band thinking two things.
One, He was Drunk at the wheel.
Or two he skidded across a peice of ice.
Hammet went to go look for the ice and found none, making it easier to belive that he was drunk.
The death of their bassist certiantly left the bands future in doubt.
But after a couple of weeks the band decided that Burton would want them to carry on.
That being said they went to look for a replacement.
Over 40 people tried out Jason Newstaid was one who stuck out to them.
Newstaid learned all of Metallicas songs.
The members decided that thay would initiate him by tricking him into eating a ball of wasabi.
So their it is I hope you leared something new about my faveorite metal band.
