its not hard :) were all smart enough to do this.

i still have to figure out how to power this thing with my extra laptop battery. lucky for me i know this screen draws about 12 volts which coincidentally is what the dreamcast takes which is ABOUT what my battery gives off

google ben heck. just dont flood there forums with questions

Lol.
Don't flood the forums, troll.
And, that's cool, Alistor.
I may want to do something like this, but actually use a controller port so it'll be way different than what Ben Heck does.

heh i plan on keeping all the ports but assigning the first to the face. its sort of my entry project to portable console modding. its pretty easy and gamecube screens are cheap and easy to use

Props for sure, but, you need to use a CNC machine or something to make a case for it... or do you have something in mind or a plan for a case?

Also, props on your sig, alistor. That's a tight quote from Big Boss

heh i have a couple of ideas. the case is probably going to be the most difficult. maybe take two sheets of plastic, some bondo, a heat gun and recycling the qauntum fighter pad hand grips i can make something functional and easy on the eyes. thats next check though. ill be working on the power for now. i want to make it so i never have to use the dreamcast power chord again.

any good name ideas? i was thinking "the sega dreamgear"

and yea thanks mgs4 is the best game ive played in YEARS. mirrors edge a close second. the super mario thing is an add off of cragslist. http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/orl/740493470.html

heh that depends on how much people would be willing to pay and if it looks any good when im done. i could use that money to create 2 more and keep one and use the money from another to begin a more... lucrative project that takes a bit more work like a ps2 portable with the hdd mod. (sucker would be super heavy)

Here's what you could do for a case. Find a box, then modify it by cutting holes for buttons and the screen. Plastic is easier to cut like this than it looks. Check my NES phone to see how I did it. It was easy. :P

And the PS2 portable would be easy! If you use a slim from Gamestop or something. If it's refurbished you can find it cheap too.

I've always wanted to do this, but couldn't because I couldn't find a super cheap calculator, but there's a way you can fit a Gameboy Color into a TI-83 calculator.

heh yea itd be easier to shove it into a box for sure. but i want this to look pro. like a company made it. but if i find i have bad luck ill put it in one.

i want to use the internal hdd mod so i dont have to carry all kinds of games around. im willing to sacrifice heft for that. though a slim has lots of prospects. its very light. slap a screen, some batteries and a controller on and boom portable. you wouldnt have to change almost anything about it.

If I were you I would also include video out and maybe a controller port or 2. You could build a switch in to go from the portable's built in controls to a controller port allowing you to not only be able to play it on the go, but connect a tv and play it anywhere.

You will put it into a box.

Look at this site! People on Ben Heck's forum recommend this.

EDIT: THIS WOULD BE COOL!
