Brewology Overhaul *spoiler alert* ; )

Here on the Brewology Network we try to offer gamers and otherwise interested viewers with the most recent downloads and information about casual gaming. Lately, our news section has been slacking, but nonetheless, I know that we can get over this hump and get back on track as a respected community once again. There are positions that I need to ask of the community to be filled though. If you love this site and would like to contribute, please post here and let me and other staffers know what you're all about so we can consider you for a job here.

Jobs To Apply For

1. News Posting
2. phpBB coder
3. HTML coder *note* If you know both languages or know anyone that can assist us for free, let me know!
4. Graphics Artist
5. Moderator *note* We might not need to accept additional Moderators at this time.
6. Feature Article Writer *info below*

*Feature Article Writer*

Once we fully implement a good News Team that updates daily, it's always been a personal idea of mine that we'd then integrate a few select people to accept "special news posts". These people would accept "assignments" from me directly about certain aspects in the gaming community and would be responsible to write "feature articles" that will be linked to from all websites in the brewology. The idea is that if there's a huge new trend in gaming, be it a controller style or a really hot new game, we'll have our Feature Article Writers writing up the story on the hottest news and giving our network a true namesake against our competitors.

Also, I know that there are some great graphics artists here at the brewology, but we really need people with professional skills or people who feel their skill is equivalent. For more into that, please read the "spoiler alert" below.

* Spoiler Alert*

I will spill the beans a little bit. Nik and I have been trying to get a system in order in which we can fully migrate the entire Brewology Network to phpBB 3.0 instead of our 2.xx version. This would provide not only better support for security purposes but will also be a quintessential update for allowing our members to be able to choose from multiple different colors/ design templates - something the community has been wanting for a long time. Coincidentally, this could allow us to create new features for the Brewology Network that we haven't even considered in the past, such as an RSS feed and the ability to DIG our news posts and such like other news sites (this can be done on phpbb2 but we won't implement it in our current state). This process is ongoing, but I assure you, progress has already been made into this next step. We've learned how to successfully migrate our data. The problem now is that we need custom graphics artists, phpBB coders, and possibly some HTML gurus as well to help us create a variety of templates. If we can get a steadily updated front news page that is saturated with news from various sources day-to-day, then I promise you that we will work steadfast at providing a friendlier user interface for the Brewology Network.

I wouldn't mind being a WII-News-poster As i know crait is doing PSP i believe, i could handle WII News Posting the only thing is though im not aloud on my computer everyday, I have my wii and a wireless keyboard which im currently typing from know but it isn't good enough.
Well im up-to-date with current Wii Hacking events so i could be a good updater and i just worked out how to use the URL Code and such and make a decent article as Crait posted a edited( A much better one at that) of the article i sent him.

Anyways i don't mind if i don't get accepted but i do like to do my fair share :-) Would be a honour though. Also a good read im a fast reader who doesn't remember much but i shall read it 3 times.

Thanks, Alex.

P.S. Crait doesn't know alot about the WII World as he told me he doesn't have one.

Thanks again, Alex.

Btw are those beans HEINZ? :P

-----EDIT-----
I just reread the part about Article writing and i think its a very good idea, the only downside maybe that people maynot have that console or that control so if you did make an "A Team" :P you would have to grab people from each section or if its on 1 console and their is alot of news posters in that area we could have multiple oppinions. Also sortof a suggestion but could you impliment a Sortof Youtube news video if you did put some articles in about gaming consoles etr, for example The wii motion plus for wii remote you could give a review and back it up even more by adding a video review aswell.

Just a though. Thanks again, Alex.

Good to hear. I hope I can stay as a news admin over at ps3brew, I am just going through a lot right now like moving etc. So once that is all over I will be back to news posting.

I'm really good with HTML, JS, and other web languages. PHP isn't my strong suit but I can read it if need be. I'll also keep writing up great, interesting articles for the site's news. I can also be a great moderator. I'm always online and I've been here forever. I've been here for the good times, but I've also been here for the bad times so I know what this site really needs.

I want to double our community here at the brewology one day and do so while running strong. To do that, we firstly need News Posters. News posting is a great way to be first introduced to the hierarchy of the staff here at the brewology as well as helping keep the site going. The more updates to the news, the more registering members, which means the beckoning for better updates in the future will be more clear.

Unfortunatly that is 100% True which is why i believe many of our members who come here for Wii news are leaving for sites Like Tehskeen, Wiinewz, Wiibrew As they have constant updates. Unfortunatly we are so far behind in wii news it would literaly take me months to write it all up, then we would be behind again. I would also like to double our community as i feel part of it :-) in truth i think im the only 1 active in wii section of the forum.
With the power of my Wireless keyboard and Nintendo wii channel im probaly PRITTY DAMN ACTIVE :-).

Also, if crait doesn't mind i can just send him some of the informal stuff and also send him the link so he can edit it.
As he did a good job for the first one i sent him :-)

Thanks, Alex.

I could be a moderator if traffic got back up, but right now its really lacking.
Also if we really wanted to expand the site, a game database would be awesome.
A person types in the game and checks reviews and stuff.

I like your idea of a games Database do you sortof mean like armorgames.com? if not you can type back.
Also i was going to type this in another Thread but anyway.

Numbers of users in their forum:
Gbatemp 200k! *its like 195k so i rounded it off*
Tehskeen 80k
Us 30k

Im not forgetting Gba temp offers illegal stuff so don't sue me for that lol.
But we have got to find a way to advertise this forum.

On tehskeen it has a list of "Cool" homebrew websites and why arn't we on it! its got wiibrew.org gbatemp wiinewz.com Its the same with those aswell.

No offence but the avertisement of this website is like none, and why do we have advertisement no offence *i am going to donate* But why do we have advertisement of homebreware when thats a ripoff of homebrew and its kindof ripping off the folks at bootmii and all the homebrew installers around.

Theirs my rant :-)

Going back to the idea above, A games lounge would sortof bring more people in if you could code it right so it was like kongregate.com *you get trophies and points for doing sertain stuff*
But a bad side to that would be it wouldn't be solving OUR overall problem of their are just hardly any people posting on this forum any more.
Thanks, Alex. *im posting from my wii so if you see any spellllllllling mistakes its because i have a very sensitive wireless keyboard.

Because it costs to keep this site up and running, money doesn't grow on this part of the internet trees.

@ Alex, no. I'm just talking about a database where you type in the PSP/360/PS3/Wii game and you get matches and click on the one you want. Then there is a synopsis about the game and reviews or w/e - screenshots.
