Wow This is a great site, but this is the answer i got, "We currently don't sell any modules into this system." Though where it said "Available Memory Slots: NaN" What does "NaN" mean?

Basicly their are Non in stock. NaN etleast what i think of it is when a system or normaly a game gets confused with numbers so much It justs Turns it to NaN, When using art money etr And you put in instead of a number Poo, It will probaly come up with "NaN" Basicly Not Aplicable, Non in stock.

Thanks, Alex. its commen sence.

Maybe when you get to the page that says that, find out all the information about the memory, then type that into a site like newegg or another computer website and they may have it. I"m not sure though never got that problem before.

Yunoko beat me to it, but try opening up your tower and find your ram sticks and see if there are any stickers/iindications of what speed and stuff they are. I downloaded one program a week ago but I forget the name.. I will get back to you on it but it told me what I needed.

Oh sorry I didn't see this thread sooner or I woulda helped joo.
Here is the ram you have: http://www.ambry.com/page/search.asp?partnumber=4T234
Lawl, to say the least you have some extremely old ram. Like, I haven't seen a RIMM in a single computer yet aside from old ones at school for learning purposes. You have two 128mb sticks of RIMM 66mhz sticks (should be like 400mhz tho). And you also have 2 free slots, which just have continuity modules in them. I'm not even sure if newegg sells RIMM ram considering I don't know of any companies that even still produce that kind of memory. Best luck would be ebay.

Also the program advent is talking about is probably like PC Wizard 2008 (or whatever the latest year is that they have made) or CPUZ. Both tell you what kind of ram you have.

Just post if you have any other questions :)

Oh and also since RIMM has to be sorta "terminated" like SCISI devices that is why crucial's app said NaN since technically you don't have any free slots because there are blank modules in them. Or since RIMM was used in the late 90's it might not even support it.

Your best bet probably is to update your motherboard so you can use new ram. Would be a pain to find one that works with all those components you have possibly though.

So, if i do want to upgrade new ram i should get rid of my RIMM Modules and install completely new RAM? Though i do not know how to find what Ram i should use with my motherboard. I will open up my tower and take a good look at it today. The one thing i do not like about Dell is if you want to upgrade or exchange parts to it, it always has to be a Dell product. I hate dell :(

Kay I'm a bit busy to read your post above this one I am posting, but what I do know is you don't need to have dell components in a dell computer. My computer that died like a year ago now, was all dell, and I turned it into somewhat of a gaming machine (consider crap now but still) and buy the end nothing of the dell computer was left inside, not even the case, just the hard drive.

Nah dude I just told you what kind of RAM you have. You have RIMM RAM in there now, thats the kind that your motherboard accepts. IF you wanted to upgrade it them you would have to get more ram that is RIMM. In other words your motherboard is from the stone ages, and if you could find working RIMM somewhere on the internet then it would probably cost just as much as a new motherboard. But that's the problem with old computers, you can't upgrade them without practically building a new computer. And if you did upgrade that computer it would be such a insignificant upgrade that you wouldn't notice a difference at all.

And like yunoko said, you don't have to use dell parts. You can use whatever parts you want, you just have to know what to get.

The whole reason i ask these questions is like all other computer users. I want to try to make my computer a bit faster. I also downloaded a program called "Registry Defense" but it has worked a lil bit Oo

Back to the main topic; It would just be much easier to buy a whole new computer huh LOL If i wanted to buy more Rimm sticks for this comp, can i get rid of those continuity modules and replace it with more Rimm?

Thanx Ace 012 & .Yunoko for taking the time to help a rookie like me :)

Well I mean I know why you would want to upgrade it but imo upgrading something that old is a waste of money >.<
And yes if you did buy more ram for it then you just take the two blank pcb's in there and replace it with two real sticks of ram.

You might be best upgrading to a new computer altogether? Look around for good deals and if you find one then you can upgrade it.
