Well, I wouldn't say that macs are necessarily built great... especially recently. It seems like Apple is scaling back build quality a bit here and there probably. But I have used Macs before and helped fix some stuff on them. I think when it comes to fixing Macs it's generally regarded as a pain in the donkey because everyone is so used to using PC's that when you hop on a Mac, you don't know your right from your left. But when it comes to overall usage I'm willing to say they are easier to use. That's why Mac can so simplistic in their design because most people that buy Macs buy them and that's it. No upgrading, no buying spare/replacement batteries. And if you do need to buy an accessory, there's no thought involved for the most part. If it's Mac compatible and your Mac isn't ancient, it's GOING to work with most likely little to no effort. How many Linux users can say the same thing?
The only reason I would considering buying a Mac was if I needed a simple computer to take on the road just for blogging and such. The Macbooks have a good size and pretty good battery life. If I wanted a full featured PC, it would def be Windows.
