the reason why games are so costly is due to piracy tho

They are just trying to get money by selling the same thing twice (without doing any work). It's disgusting.

To put this into perspective, think of it like this. Say I bought a John Deere tractor and use it for farming. After 2-3 years it's a little beat up and I sell it to another farmer. Only imagine this, John Deere says that in order for me to sell it I have to give them 15% of the profits that I make from selling my own property that I purchased myself even though John Deere hasn't paid for gas, shelter, or any upkeep on my tractor since I purchased it from them.

How the heck is this even SOMEWHAT legal? This is truly a sign of degradation of the American spirit, in my opinion. It's "reverse piracy", if you will. They are trying to legally "tax" you for selling your used stuff even though you purchased it yourself. The flipside is that the NEXT person that purchases that item may have to pay certain fees for reactivation and thus increasing the corporate-level piracy even more.

I can understand re-registering for multiplayer components of various games because that actually helps secure some piracy issues as well as issues with using third-party tools/ cheats/ hacks in games. Most people, if they pay money, don't want to cheat because if they are banned then they are out of the money that they spent on the game to re-register.

At a certain point, however, they have to understand that "if I purchase a game, it is mine and mine alone and from reselling my own property I owe them absolutely nothing in return".

Whatever gets them off. All this means is that I'm going to have to illegally download more of their games to get full access. Bad decision on their part.

This just makes used games even more worthless than they already were. People just need to continue to use things like craigslist and ebay and never let this kind of crap get big, And of course, pirates will never quit, no matter what!
