Are hiking shoes supposed to be tight? Yes and no. When you buy hiking shoes, you want them to fit snugly, but not too tight. If your hiking shoes are too tight, they can cause blisters. You also don’t want hiking shoes that are too loose because it will make your feet feel sloppy inside the shoe and it will impact your step.
If you’re buying new hiking shoes, try them on at the store before you buy them. This way, you know how they fit.
When looking at new hiking shoes online, make sure that they’re labeled as “slipper-like” or “waterproof.” These are the best types of hiking shoes.

Re: Are hiking shoes supposed to be tight?

Glad to read all the stuff about hiking shoes.
Hiking shoes are supposed to be tight. They should feel like a second skin, and the toe box should feel snug. You might have heard that hiking shoes need to be made from leather to give them some stiffness and support. Tight but comfortable hiking shoes are available at https://www.nortiv8shoes.com/collections/mens-hiking-boots site. If your hiking shoes are too loose and floppy, they won't hold your foot in place when you walk or run.
