Mentally Retarded iPod

so it tells me to plug it in to restore it, and then its unrecognized (drivers installed) and sits there saying DONT DISCONNECT. nothing i do does anything to make it respond. its starting to annoy me. i hear the HDD spinning.....



ITS a 30GB ipod video 1st gen (of 2 ipod video versions)

If windows says it unrecognized there is a problem with the ipod or the cable. If you are not using an apple cable try that. If that doesn't fix it its no use.

Do you have iTunes installed?

*duh* My moms mac and my windows 7, and even my ubuntu envirnment dont see it.
