Malwarebytes

Anyone here use this program?

It was highly recommended to me but for some reason I can't get it to update on XP or Windows 7.

Anyone else have this problem?

Re: Malwarebytes

I use it quite often, whenever I'm fixing someones computer with one of the various "antivirus 2010" malicious programs I always try running malwarebytes first ;)

Although not sure why you can't get it to update, I've never had a problem with it before.

Re: Malwarebytes

Malwarebytes is amazing for getting off malware, but I hardly use it unless I'm fixing other people's computers. Whenever I've used it, I never had any problems with installing it. Can you give us some more specifics as to why it isn't installing? What errors is it showing? Is it before or after the installer boots up?

Re: Malwarebytes

The program installs just fine my problem is that when I go to update it instantly gives me this error on XP and Windows 7: MBAM_ERROR_UPDATING (12007,0, WinHttpSendRequest)

None of my other applications have any issues getting online for updates and I do not currently use a firewall.

All I really need to resolve this issue is a current version of the "rules.def" file to see if Malwarebytes will even find the virus that I have.

All of the "reputable" virus scanners such as Norton and MS Essentials are only good for deleting your cracks and keygens. God forbid if they find and delete a single virus as advertised.

Re: Malwarebytes

Norton is just as bad as Mac (in their own categories)... Try Kaspersky AV/IS, or ESET Nod32.... I can help you with kaspersky cracks that should get you about 500 something days (and its not a trial resetter), but ESET has its own nodenabler...

Re: Malwarebytes

I think I can find what you offer on my own. Thanks for the recommendation though.

Re: Malwarebytes

Don't use Kaspersky or whatever the crap it's called. Use Malwarebytes. It has a huge community-based anti-virus support team.
These are the sites I think that would help you the most:

Re: Malwarebytes

I can send you mine que, lemme know and I'll upload it.
As for using kaspersky well for some reason it just doesn't give me that much confidence when you can download cracks for your antivirus...
Avast + Malwarebytes + Regcleaner = awesum
