How I fixed my laptop.

Ok so I got this laptop from a friend for free because it didn't work. he told me if I could fix it i could have it so I was like "I know how to fix stuff ill take it :D" well the only problem with it was that the harddrive was fried. I had three options.

1. Go buy a new hard drive ($100)
2. Take the hard drive out of my junk bin that I got from my old fried laptop. (Not Fun)
3. Take apart my broken external hard drive to see what was inside. (:D)

So I decided to take my external HD apart. I got all the stuff out to find that it's actually just a normal laptop HD. I also learned that usually all laptop hard drives are the same. Another thing I got out of this was the piece that allowed me to connect the hard drive to my computer. I just popped that on and put it in the hard drive that was in my junk bin and I got all the lost files of the hard drive! Then I put the hard drive from the External HD and put it in my laptop.

So out of taking apart my old external that costed me about $60 i got...
-Laptop Hard drive adapter. ($25)
-Laptop 300GB Hard drive ($150)

So that's like a lot of money saved :D. I love messing with stuff to find goodies. :D:D:D:D:D

NOOOO!!! Monkey! Don't! It's a trap! Took me about 8 hours to take mine apart and put it back.
Glad you've got it fixed, Fallen! I just had to get a replacement hard drive for mine, too!
