I talked to him over the internet last night, and for what happened, I think it may have just been a freak accident and shorted something out on his PSP. It couldn't be bricked because all he was doing was putting photos on his PSP, then later it wouldn't turn on. He tried different batteries, same thing, and he also tried a bunch of different things like taking the battery out and pluggin just the system into the AC adaptor. From the look of his uses of the PSP it sounds like he qualifies for an exchange though. As the warranty says it will be defect free until 90 days, which is about how long he had his PSP, but this happened a month ago, so the warranty doesn't state anything about it being reported during the 90 days, it says if it malfunctions during. So as it being defective as of one month ago, it was within the 90 days. But sorry for the rant, his PSP shouldn't be bricked, or at least not from any firmware modifications. Just simply from a defect.
