i've been thinking...

well i've been thinking, since we all can hack sony no matter what we do, cant we actually physically tweak it(the psp) like make a custom motherboard or somthing so it has enough computing power to actually do things to runs windows or somthing? i mean we've gotten this far...
I think it could be possible it you have a computor and mod it or somthing so that when u connect a usb, u can run vista or what ever off the Pc box and stuff instead of using a monitor and save stuff to a mem stick inserted.
do u get what i mean?

i think he means make a custom Motherboard and stuff to have a maximum of like 700 MHZ or something, right?

I guess u could. It might destroy ur psp update and stuff but it would be sweet to play Gamecube and stuff without much lag at all. Sounds cool

I dont think Vista will ever be an option on a psp. 2gb of ram will be hard to put in there.

It would be exstinsively hard imo to do something like that. Making homebrew is one thing, but changing the whole thing is another. Due to limitations set in it's own "OS", you'd probably have to create something a little more intricate then custom firmware. But idk anything about it, nothing but speculation.

One thing is for sure... if this was a one man project, you'd need some serious programming skill, amazing architectural planning, and some CNC equipment just for starters. The only person I know that at least fits two of those prerequisites is Ben Heckendorn (http://www.benheck.com), and I'm not even sure he could do such a thing.

Yeah changing the motherboard is something you probably wouldnt accomplish.
Benheck is amazing though, I loved his wii laptop.

But then again...who wants
to stare at a tiny screen connected
to a tower, when you already have
an awesome 22 inch flat-panel
monitor?

Choices:

Tiny psp screen

or

Huge PC monitor...

hmmm, I think we would all make
the same choice. Not a bad Idea,
though.
