Wrestling nowadays is actually a lot more "real" than it ever used to be. Read that Mick Foley book "Have A Nice Day." (It's actually a well written and pretty inspirational book!) Back in the 80's they faked a lot more things, but I think after they got the bad press about that, they started encouraging wrestlers to make it more realistic.
I don't really watch wrestling anymore, but i loved the WWF/E in the 80's, 90's and early 00's and ECW.
Besides, when professional wrestling WAS real back in the 50's, the matches would last for hours. It's BETTER that they have a predetermined outcome.
