Thing that just made me want a wii

The only thing Im hyped up about it is that its gonna be online.
The game cube may have been online, but damn it sucked. So they might have yet another failure.

yes it can play dvds it uses dvd discs like the xbox and ps2

most classic nintendo games dont take much space like Super Mario World for snes its only like 6 mb

and who needs high def not every one has a high def tv they are still a kinda luxuary and in my opinion usless

and the bit about no info on its inovativeness read a GI magazine theres been alot reveled sword swinging gun aiming and shooting

compared to press X to attack wow so very interactive


and a few notes about the Wii online FREE, i repeat, FREE completly FREE!!!!!! and much like xbox live there is an online store to buy/download those back catalog games and maby more (if anything there keeping their online WAY more secret than the controller)

I'd like to also retaliate to shay...I dont buy a console for DVD's or BluRay I buy it for games and gameplay, which I believe will be better on the Wii, and with a much cheaper price tag...

i wanted a wii when i learned we can play past system games on it..

thought the ps3's online is going to kill(from what i heard about the wii online)
you can save your data online, you have your own profile thingy, everthing is free*
online play free? you bet. free downloadable games? you bet**
web browsing? i think..... it will also double as a location free player lol

wow I havent been in a debate this heated since school. Okay my counter-argument:

-I never said the controller is crafted out of a penis, but unless you sat on a couch for your entire life and know your tv remote like the back of your hand, this could get some getting used to, and if I can jump ahead a little bit you said that Gaming consoles are made for gaming (duh?), then why does the controller look like a TV remote, it's not for watching TV thats what the TV is for (Duh?).

-wtf is a "virtual council"? Learn to spell, it's a "Console", and if you don't understand the idea behind it this is what it is... you can connect your wii to a internet line (or some other line that will be availiable in the future) and it will allow you to download old games from consoles such as NES, SNES, and N64; they will be about 8.95 USD. Why pay that much when your local EBGames,Gamestop,Gamecrazy,or other shops of that manner sell them a buck a pop. Very useless, how hard was it for n00btendo to add a cart slot to the wii?

-PS2 and Xbox have had this technology for CENTURIES! Whats next for n00btendo, online play?! Wow they are on the cutting edge when it comes to console ideas!

-Again it's only 512 mb memory, I have a PSP with a 1 gb thats like almost twice the wii. If I wanted a wii I would want to cram it with music and movies, which Is what I will probably buy a 360 for.

-wow so we have seen SSB,Red Steel, and Mario Universe, not very impressive to me, n00btendo is a child company the only thing they have going for them is red steel which will probably be ported to PS3 and 360 soon after launch...

i dont think the wii is going to have expansionable memory

yet again, nintendo will probably not allow you to download the actual rom (.gba/.n64/etc)
they are probably going to be securally compressed
