Sega Genesis Collection set for PS2 and PSP
But the time Sega really pulled the plug would have been after Sonic Mega Collection Plus was put out into stores, making locals angry about how they have to pay the same price for the older Mega Collection for just a few updates.
Hopefully sega doesn't make the same mistake again after that Gamecube incident.
Just yesterday on August 10th, 2006, SEGA announced the SEGA Genesis Collection for PlayStation 2 and PSP will be released this fall.
It will be the very first sega genesis titles for so many to have been seen on a console and a handheld.
"The Genesis was the first 16-bit gaming system released in 1989, setting a new standard for gaming hardware technology for years to come," said Scott A. Steinberg, VP of Marketing, SEGA. "SEGA Genesis Collection will take gamers back to experience the golden age of gaming during the 1990s."
SEGA Genesis Collection features over 30 titles, including Altered Beast, Sonic the Hedgehog, Shinobi III, Phantasy Star, and the original Genesis version of Golden Axe. Even though it was developed by Backbone Entertainment, the non series ristar will come into action aswell.
"SEGA Genesis Collection for the PSP system marks the handheld debut of many of these games. The PSP's wireless function will allow Genesis fans to connect with friends for wireless, 16-bit multiplayer gaming."
For non readers, sega genesis collection will come out for PSP and PS2 this fall! (right about the time prison break comes out or later)
