Well I personally bought this game and I can say that it is a pretty nice game actually... but the loading times are just too unbearable. I mean... the game itself is actually lots of fun and I enjoy it but there is 20 second loading all over the place (even when clocked to 333mhz).
The pros:
The game is amazingly witty just like all the other Sim games and has a great sense of humor. The graphics are VERY nice, crisp, clean and with plenty of detail. The game also gives you a nice house that you can customize quite a bit (buy/ sell/ rearrange furniture/ change floor and wallpaper). The game also has a neat interface for "conversation". Before in Sims games you'd have to rely SOLELY on your Sim's stats to have a good quality conversation and while that helps in Sims 2 for the psp, you can actually get by without high stats sometimes. Playing that game and learning peoples' (CRAZY) secrets is actually pretty fun and it unlocks things in the game for you. The game is played more like an RPG, which is a pro to some people, and con to others.
The cons:
LOADING LOADING LOADING!!! I can't stress it enough that the loading in this game is just too much and too long. The game also doesn't have nearly as many customization options for your character/ house. There is also a "Sanity" meter that I personally find to be pretty annoying. When your sanity is good, it helps out in conversations and things and your Sim is in really good shape, but when your Sanity gets lower it is SO hard to get it back up again (unless you have unlocked items that help with this). Since winning "conversation games" with people increases your Sanity, and you need high Sanity to win one of them... there is a double conflict.
I bought this game a long time ago so I've been playing a while and figured out the best way to make tons of money really fast. I then continued to buy all of the best items for my house so that I didn't have to worry about losing my sanity all the time. This helped me out a TON, but I also quit playing the game for a long time b/c of it (got too easy). I suggest this game only to big fans of the series, but you should also understand that it is not like the other Sims games. This Sims game isn't really a "life simulator" like the other Sims games, but instead, it is more of an RPG game.
