3.40 OE-A compatiable with .cso and .iso?

updated post : working now (recovery configuration settings for 3.40 OE-A fw user)

Hey there-

I recently downgraded from 3.50 to 1.50 and installed 3.40 OE-A custom firmware. Anyway I have a .cso file that I want to play so I created an "ISO" file in the root directory (which I copied the .cso to) and set my recovery settings to this:

Configuration -> Skip SCE logo :Disabled
Configuration -> Hide corrupt icons :Enabled
Configuration -> Game folder homebrew :1.5 Kernel
Configuration -> Autorun programat /PSP/GAME/BOOT/EBOOT.PBP :Disabled
Configuration -> Use NO-UMD Enabled
Configuration -> Fake region :Disabled
Configuration -> Free UMD Region :Disabled

--------

Advanced Configuration -> Plain modules in UMD/ISO :Enabled
Advanced Configuration -> Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/ISO :Disabled
Advanced Configuration -> Use isofs driver also in UMD-inserted mode :Disabled

Also, no UMD game required to play the .cso

disable no umd... throw a game or game demo umd in your umd tray then try starting the cso.

Hey staxx- I tried that and still no luck... Could the .cso be bunk? Should I decompress to .iso and reinstall?

UPDATE: (It's working now!)

I'm going to update the recovery settings posted above to show how it worked for me, a 3.40 OE-A user.

Disable- Plain modules in UMD/ISO
Disable- Execute BOOT.BIN in UMD/ISO

And it should work. Or at least that is the settings I use and all my cso's work fine.

If that doesn't work try downloading a different file of the same game. Preferably an ISO that you can compress yourself.

Make sure you turn it on after a cold boot. As in turn it off by holding down the power button for like 5 sec. Then hold the r trig and turn on.

Glad you got it working worked.
