can't connect my xbox?

I bought an ethernet adapter, I'm on xbc but I just can't seem to get online, I go to system link on Halo 2
and try to join a server on xbc, it says connecting XXnameXX server, and the game room just disappears.

do you have xboxlive service?

you need to get service like you do for internet...

for xboxconnect? but I thought it was free?

Dont listen to him. You dont need xbox live.
You need a router. It doesnt work with a modem.

I have a router, the 2nd port connects my ethernet adapter straight from there to the xbox, plus my firewalls are disabled.

nevermind I got it, seems like I just needed to downloaded the skinned version I guess because of
my long ethernet adapter lol.

It sucks because you can only have 1 server at a time in the dropdown list.
And you have to keep going back and forth from your xbox to your pc.

Lol I used to love xbox connect. I might start using it again. I just had to get banned from xbox live for modding my xbox :p . Best thing that ever happened for halo 1 though. But I have my computer right beside a table in my room with my xbox on it which has another dresser beside the table that has my tv on it. So what more could I ask for? I even one time set up the router so that the router was in my room so I could standby. Everything I need is in arms reach :p What games you got slick?
