Sound does not work

allright so as you all know i am new on this community and i was lucky(or was i?) to get a cheap downgradable(now 3.03 oe) PSP on ebay, here is the catch though, the sound does not work.....at all, however when i plug my headphones if i move them around a bit i can get sound from one bud, now i was wondering whether i should buy a sound board and replace the whole shebang but im not too keen on buying stuff from hong kong ppl, not the best quality if you catch my drift. or is there something i can try before i shell out $20 all-american dollars for a soundboard.

It sounds like it is just a matter of the wire not connecting to the board. The $20 sounds very reasonable, however, if you have moderate soldering skills then you should be able to take the psp apart and solder the wire back to the board yourself.

I'd at least open her up and see if that's the case or not.

well i went in, the board is fine, but the headphones port is completely ruined, it broke and it even took the little pieces of board it was soldered to. i completely took it out.

Well I guess your gut feeling was correct. Lucky for you, it is a relatively cheap and easy fix. It could be a lot worse :O
