What is your firmware?
Go to Settings -> System Settings -> something idk. and you can see the firmware of your psp.

Ah ok, you will NEED to use a special battery and memory stick in order to downgrade. But in order to make the battery, you will either need to hard mod it by opening it up and solder something here

Or you will need the use of a psp with custom firmware in order to make the battery. SInce the battery installer is a HOMEBREW app.
