How do you get to disc two of a multi-disc game like FF?

Ok, pretend I'm playing Final Fantasy IX and i get to the end of disc one, and i want to go on to disc two but both discs are in eboot form and i can't fit them both on the same memory card, How do i get to disc two?!

I've searched around a lot and can't find the answer.

With Final Fantasy IX, it prompts you to save at the end of disc one. You can swap out disc 1 for disc 2 now. You are done with disc 1. You no longer need it.

oh ok, i wasn't exactly sure since i hadn't gotten to the end of disc one yet. just wanted to make sure it would work out before i got there.

Does it work the same way in final fantasy VIII?

probably, from what ive seen in videos on youtube of people playing FF on psp they have separate files for each disc

it usually asks you if you want to save at the end of a disc if i remember correctly, so probably just go to the other disc file and load the game
